Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish vs. Foreo Luna Play

Face off: Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish vs. FOREO LUNA Play

The new season has seen me splurge on skincare; isn’t it justified as we desperately try to avoid dull, dry skin? So, I treated myself to a couple of new cleansing products: a cult favourite and a new-ish contender (spoiler alert: there’s a clear favourite and it’s the cheaper of the two).

Skincare review: Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish vs. Foreo Luna Play

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish

Cleanse and Polish needs almost no introduction: this bestselling product—one is sold every 30 seconds—and has won over 100 awards.

It’s not the cheapest cleanser in the world but hardly breaks the bank either. I bought the starter kit (RRP £15.50), which comes with a 100ml Hot Cloth Cleanser and two muslin cloths.

Massage the cleanser into your face before wetting a cloth with hot water and gently rubbing/polishing off the cream. Splash yourself with cold water and you’re done. I was literally a convert from the first use.

Comparing new cleansers for autumn/winter: Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish vs. Foreo Luna Play

FOREO LUNA Play

The 100-use, non-rechargeable LUNA Play (RRP £29) is a good way to see whether you like the FOREO range before you splash out £85+ on the standard LUNA (or new LUNA Go).

You press the button and it vibrates as you massage cleanser into your face, before rinsing it off. The idea is that its pulsations give you a deeper clean, improving and brightening the complexion.

I can’t see or feel any difference in my skin, but by buying the Save The Sea version (which comes with two mini cleansers) I’ve done my bit for the environment: 100% of the net profit goes to Sea Life Trust and Green Wave.

How’s your skin coping with the cold?
