“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” – F. Scott Fitzgerald
My favourite season and one of my all-time favourite quotes (Fitzgerald, how I adore you). Round here, we’ve been making the most of the glorious autumn weather London has been blessed with…though not so much this evening.
Last weekend we woke up to the thickest fog and when it cleared it was to strong, low winter sun. There was only one thing to do: we went out for a long walk up the Regent’s Canal, first to Broadway Market and then on to Columbia Road Flower Market (with a shared portion of salty chips en route).
As we headed back through Hoxton and De Beauvoir the sun began to set and fog descended again. It was so quiet, amazingly eerie and perfectly appropriate for the Halloween weekend. If anything the mists had thickened when we went to work the next morning; every Monday my team has a weekly catch-up while walking around Hampstead Heath and the fog in the park was incredible. I’m already sad thinking that we’re almost done with this season for another year.
