Another weekend in Manchester

We Mancunians love four things: shopping, drinking, eating and music (well, and football if that’s your thing). This weekend we hopped on a train and ventured up to Manchester to pay a visit to the old friends and fam’ and in typical fashion our long weekend covered most of the essentials.

We ticked a new restaurant off our ‘places to eat’ list, went vintage shopping in the Northern Quarter, stumbled across hot chocolate bubble tea in Chinatown, hit up a pub or two and worked our way round the Christmas markets–indulging in the compulsory bratwurst and Glühwein. I know I’m biased as a native, but up north we know how to do a Christmas market. Manchester’s is hands-down the best in the UK, even if it’s uncomfortably busy (even for a now-Londoner).

I’d also recommend poking your head into the newly-refurbished Central Library, now as impressive on the inside as it is on the out.

  1. Awww, you look so cute and happy! I’ve never been to Manch before (well, once with Jade before a Jay-Z concert but we weren’t there for long), I’d love to go to the Christmas market and see if it lives up to the hype! ;)
