Exploring Lake Skadar in Montenegro

Another day, another photo-heavy post. We managed to make our way around 14 different places during our 13 day holiday in Montenegro and you know my photo finger is trigger happy so I have lots to share from this teeny country, also known as Crna Gora, but I am getting to the end (it’s a good job as I’m off to Paris today, ha!).

To explore Lake Skadar and its (extremely beautiful) surrounding area, we based ourselves in the village of Virpazar. We hiked to Godinje on a very hot afternoon and on another day took a rather pricey, utterly terrifying taxi journey through the hills (via the narrowest cliff-edge roads) to Rijeka Crnojevica – still no idea how to pronounce that one.

The scenery was utterly spectacular. Think countless twisting roads, ramshackle old towns, crystal clear waters and lush vineyards. The richest blues and greens you could hope to see in the natural world.
